Disc golf for beginners
Disc golf is extremely popular in Finland, because there are courses in almost every municipality and you can often play for free. A round takes one to two hours and adds up to a good brisk outing. This guide helps you start with the right discs and good habits.
You will need
- 2–3 beginner discs (putter, midrange, fairway driver)
- Outdoor clothes and shoes with good grip
- A scorecard or app
- A water bottle
- A small backpack or disc bag
Steps
Get a light starter set
Start with a putter, a midrange and a slow fairway driver. Fast distance drivers need a lot of power and technique, and beginners often send them off to the side. Lighter discs are easier to throw.
