Private leasing or buying a car

Private leasing has become more common in Finland, because the monthly payment often includes servicing and tyres. A leasing contract does not suit everyone, though, so it is worth calculating the total costs and checking the terms before you sign.

You will need

Steps

  1. Estimate your mileage

Work out how many kilometres you drive a year. A leasing contract has a mileage limit, and going over it is charged at a separately agreed price per kilometre.

  2. Find out what the payment includes

  3. Calculate the total cost

  4. Read the return conditions

  5. Check the contract's flexibility

  6. Compare financing

  7. Think about how much risk you can take

  8. Sign with care
