Repotting a houseplant

Old soil loses its nutrients and becomes compacted, and the roots fill the pot in a couple of years. Repotting done correctly in spring gives the plant a new burst of growth.

  2. Choose the timing

  3. Choose the right soil

  4. Water the day before

  5. Remove the plant

  6. Tidy the roots

  7. Plant in the new pot

  8. Look after it while it recovers
