Recognising shock and first aid
In shock, the body’s circulation is not sufficient, and the condition can get worse quickly. Shock can be caused, for example, by heavy bleeding, a burn, a severe allergic reaction or an infection. First aid is simple, but you must call 112 at once.
You will need
- A phone
- A blanket or coat
- A sleeping mat or something insulating
- Dressings to stop bleeding
